Super cars, vintage vehicles and motorcycles will descend on Liverpool’s waterfront on Sunday (July 3) in the latest Cars and Coffee meet up.
After beginning life as a small gathering of car enthusiasts, the semi-regular event has grown to become welcome hundreds of super cars, racing cars, vintage models and motorcycles from across the country.
Now one of the biggest family car events in Liverpool, Cars and Coffee allows visitors the chance to get up close to some of the rarest and most expensive cars in the world including McLarens, Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
The meet, which takes place at Chung Ku restaurant on Liverpool’s waterfront, begins at 9.30 and allows car enthusiasts the chance to showcase their pride and joy whatever the value of the car.
Norman Shum, one of the founders of the event, says: “The great thing is you never know what will turn up. It will be a mix of super cars, vintage cars – a bit of everything. We’ll even have motorbikes and the scooter club is expecting to bring around 50 scooters.”
The event, sponsored by Lavazza Coffee, also allows drivers to enjoy a coffee and meet with other fans of four or two-wheeled vehicles.
Previous events have been sponsored by the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, and have raised money for a number of local charities. Events are usually themed, but the latest meet up will not have a set theme.
A host of car fans take the opportunity to photograph and video the cars, while a car culture Facebook group has now attracted over 3,000 members.
Visitors to the event are asked to arrive early, with parking available at Chung Ku for show case cars and other car parks for visitors.
